The Law Of Faith
" Understanding the Law of Faith "
Concerning the two covenants of God:
A] The First was the Law of Moses:
"Deu 5:2 The LORD our God made a covenant with us in Horeb."
"Mal 4:4 Remember ye the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel, with the statutes and judgments. "
B] And the second was the Law of Christ:
"Gal 6:2 Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ."
"Rom 3:31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law. "
The Law of Christ is also called; "the Law of Faith", and the Law of Moses became "the Law of Works"
"Rom 3:27 Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith."
Thus, when you read few passages that deal with FAITH and WORKS, its' about the law of Moses and the law of Christ. Just like this;
"Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. "
"Php 3:9 And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith: "
Why? It is because they sought the law of Moses as it were by the works of the law and not by faith.
"Rom 9:32 Wherefore? Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumblingstone;"
And in the law of Moses, anyone can boast their own righteousness which by the works of the law. In fact, the apostle Paul was one of them boasting he is righteous according to that law, but according to the law of Christ those works are vain (read Phi 3:3-9).
That is why God made a new one which is now by faith.
For example:
1. In giving, the value required in the old law should be 10% of your income (Mal 3:10). But in the new law of faith it says; the value is according to your heart or any amount as you like (2 Cor 9:7).
2. About idolatry, the idols in the old law are those graven images(Exo 20:7). But in the new, these are the fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: Col 3:5
3. In the old law; whosoever shall kill, shall be in danger of the judgment. But in the new law; whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire. (Mat 5:22).
4. And etc......
So remember;
Act 13:39 And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.
Therefore, in the law of Christ your works is now acceptable to God, and according to Paul we are now worshiping God in the spirit by fulfilling the law of Christ by faith (Phil 3:3). As Jesus said;
Joh 3:21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
