Happiness
" Happiness "
There are two types of happiness in this world that you must know;
1. Temporal happiness
2. Eternal happiness
A] Temporal happiness is referred to the enjoyment of the flesh which only last for a short period of time as follows:
" For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. (1 John 2:16)
1. Lust of the eye - it refers to the beauty of all things on earth that people wants.
" Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children:(2 Peter 2:14) "
2. Lust of the flesh - it refers to the following:
" Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. (Gal 5:19-21 ) "
3. Pride of life - it refers to the worldly wisdom and reputation.
B] Eternal happiness is referred to the happiness of the spirit inside the man:
" A merry heart makes a cheerful countenance: but by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken. (Pro 15:13 ) "
1. Opening the eyes of Wisdom and Understanding
" Happy is the man that finds wisdom, and the man that gets understanding. For it is better than silver and fine gold, it is more precious than jewels, and nothing to be compared with it. (Pro 3:13) "
" The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, (Eph 1:18)
2. Abounding the richness of Love
" Happy is he that have mercy on the poor (Pro 14:21) "
" A cheerful giver " (2Cor 9:7)
3. Standing firmly in the Faith of God
" Happy is he that trusted the LORD (Pro 16:20) "
" That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted Christ (Eph 1:12) "
Now, which of these two is better?
" For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? (Mat 16:26) "
Therefore;
"Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice. (Php 4:4 )
